Faculty Orientation Program (FOP) is a month long training program for the newly appointed faculty members.
FOP brings the new faculty members to understand the culture of the institution and orient them towards institutional values. It helps them to build a good team and nurtures knowledge sharing and bonding.
This year’s FOP was scheduled from 3rd May to 31st May.
Our Honorable Chancellor, Vice President and Vice Chancellor graced the inaugural ceremony. The vision of taking VIT to the Top 200 Global Universities List was seeded in the minds of the new faculty. Training programs were structured to envision this dream.
Some of the titles deliberated in this academic year’s FOP are:
Joining hands in the making of a world class University, Expectations from VIT, Academic Regulations, Proctoring, Digital tools for Classroom teaching/learning, Student learning outcomes and their mapping, Setting HOT questions, writing winning project proposals, Flipped Classrooms, Virtual Classrooms and MOOCs at VIT.
Industrial visits to BHEL, Malladi and Kostal facilitated the networking of the faculty with industry experts. This will be the foundation stone for the new faculty to build Industry-Institute Connect.
The Outbound training at Yelagiri brought the families of the new entrants to bond together to sustain a heathier ecosystem. Birthday celebrations, happy exchanges over a cup of coffee
The valedictory function was held on the 31st of May. Our Chancellor and Vice Chancellor reiterated the vision of VIT and were very happy to interact with the faculty. The video presentation by the faculty was breath taking and the feedback was overwhelming. Emotional exchanges brought the faculty together as a family.
