Photography Competition

PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION GUIDELINES

Please read these rules before submitting your photo to MAGX’26 PHOTOGRAPHY competition. By participating in the competition, you understand, acknowledge and unconditionally agree to abide by the following Rules:

Rules and Guidelines

• Participants must follow basic ethical and legal standpoints in their submissions and not violate or offend issues such as human rights or environmental protection.
• All submissions must be untagged and free of any form of signature, initial or logo that the photographer may have added.
• Photograph Submitted by the participants should not be edited.
• MAGX’26 panel holds the authority to reject any submission without proving explanation to the submitter of the photograph.

Submission

• 6th March 2026 is the last date for all the participants to submit the photograph.
• The submission must be relevant and centered on the competition's theme.
• Participants are permitted to submit ONLY ONE photograph per category available.
• Photographs submitted must be of high quality and taken using MEDIUM FORMAT CAMERAS/DSLR/Mirrorless camera only. The entry should be suitable for print/publishing. They must be in JPEG format and no less than 5 MB in size.
• Submissions will be accepted exclusively through the mail magx26photo@gmail.com before 6th March 2026.
• Participants should provide their Full Name, Age, Name of Institution/University, Institution ID card copy and Valid Mobile Number.
• Any submission not adhering to the above rules and guidelines will be deemed ineligible for the competition.
• Selected photographs will be exhibited in the Mahatma Gandhi Block main corridor, VIT campus, Vellore.

Category

• “Modern Humanity” – Life in the digital age.
• “Fragile Earth” – Climate, conservation, or environmental change.
• “Shadows Speak” – Storytelling through shadow and silhouette.
• “Geometry of the City” – Patterns and lines in architecture.
• “Tiny but Mighty” – Small subjects with big impact.

The Judging

• The judging panel shall assess and determine the winning photos. The results and the winners will be announced by the panel.

Intellectual Property Rights

• MAGX’26 has legal right to use all photographs for promotional purposes (non-commercial).
• Submitted photos must be original and/or taken by the participant. It must not contain any materials owned or controlled by a third party for which you have not obtained a license, must not infringe the copyright, trademark, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity.
• MAGX’26 respects photographers’ copyrights. Upon making the submission, you grant royalty free, sub-licensable right and license to use, publish, reproduce, display, perform, adapt, and to promote the contest for editorial or educative use.
• The Photographer will be credited wherever the image is used.
• MAGX'26 retains the authority to cancel the competition at any time, without prior notification.

• Certificates: Certificate of participation will be issued to all participants.
