The 37th AGM of MRSI & 8th Indian Materials Conclave, will be organized by Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, from 16th to 19th December 2026.
The conclave aims to bring together leading experts in the area of Materials making it an ideal platform for sharing & exchanging scientific knowledge and new ideas.
Vellore Institute of Technology ( VIT) was founded in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College by the Honourable Chancellor, Dr. G. Viswanathan. The institution has grown steadily since its humble beginning becoming a Deemed University in 2001. It has been providing quality higher education on par with international standards and adopts innovative methods to improve the quality of higher education. The global standards set at VIT in the domains of teaching and research spur us on in our relentless pursuit of excellence. Memoranda of Understanding with various international universities provide opportunities for exchange of students and faculty and encourage joint research projects. With steady steps, we continue our march forward. VIT is ranked at 597 in QS World University Rankings 2027. The campus has a cosmopolitan atmosphere with students from all corners of the globe.

The department consists of a total of 77 experienced and energetic faculty members. Most of them are experts in their research fields, evident from their publications and research funding. The Department is recognized by DST-FIST to establish sophisticated instrumental facilities. We offer 2 years MSc and 5 years integrated MSc program in Chemistry.
Our MSc program (2 years) offers specialization in Analytical/Inorganic/Organic /General/Pharmaceutical Chemistry. The subject Chemistry in VIT is ranked at 9 in India and top 251-300 in the world as per QS World University Subject Rankings 2026.
