Project Description

The project aims to fabricate an appropriate Ti6Al4V implant which will possess the following attributes which would accelerate the natural bone healing.

  • Improved porosity to enhance vascularisation and bone integration.
  • Bio-nanostructured coating to overcome bio -inertness, making the metal bioactive to allow improved cell material interaction.
  • Microenvironment consisting of collagen hydrogel, small molecules and stem cells to induce osteogenesis.

Thus, this study would help modify the already existing FDA approved inert biomaterial into a more biocompatible form factor with enhanced cell-material interaction, bridging the gap between bone and implant.
