Project Description

Porous Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) have been realized for their architectural design and chemical functionality in diverse applications. However, very limited efforts have been undertaken on COFs as Electro-catalysed Oxygen Reduction reaction (ORR) in fuel cell operation. This proposal describes the development of new materials catalysing the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in fuel cell technology. O2 binding in the catalytic side is the key factor for ORR. This proposal is expected to create further insights into the electro-catalytic ORR based on well defined, crystalline and extended scaffolds. This project will be the identification of new materials for ORR electro catalysis applications in fuel cell technology which is extremely demanding research area. Research on COF materials still under infancy stage although experts promised that COFs could be an efficient material on several applications. Promising research results in COF synthesis and application for the electro-catalytic ORR will be considered for patenting via SERB Innovation.
