Centre for Sustainable Rural Development & Research Studies (CSRD&RS)

The CSRD & RS was inaugurated by Bharat Ratna Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, former President of India on 1st
December 2005. The centre acts as a bond between VIT and society, to provide better and effective services for
the development of rural areas through various innovative initiatives. VIT students, under the guidance of the
faculty and staff, engage in social upliftment activities to foster rural community development through various
projects and programs.

Model Agricultural Garden

Mega Job Mela (30-03-2016)

Total of 866 candidates were selected for jobs at a Mega Job
Mela organised by the Centre for Sustainable Rural
Development and Research Studies, VIT University, Vellore. Sixty
five companies from manufacturing and service sectors

participated in the mela. More than 6,000 students from various

parts of the State, including Vellore, Tiruvannamalai,

Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur, took part in the job mela.
