VIT – Ranked No.1 private institution for Innovation

(ARIIA 2019 Award) by Govt. of India.

To ensure that Innovation is primary fulcrum of all HEIs, Ministry of Human Resource
Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has introduced ‘Atal Ranking of Institutions on
Innovation Achievements (ARIIA)’ to systematically rank education institutions and
universities primarily on innovation related indicators. ARIIA considers all major indicators

which are commonly used globally to rank most innovative education institutions/
universities in the world.

The indicators are:

 Budget, Expenses to Support (creating awareness, pre-incubation, start-ups) &
Revenue Generated (Grant / Fund Generated / received by Institute to support
Innovation & Start-up, Venture fund, investment mobilized to support innovation,

and through incubation services)
 Infrastructure & Facilities to support Innovations and Start-ups.

 Awareness for promoting idea generation and innovation.
 Promotion and supporting Entrepreneurship development.
 Intellectual Property(IP) generation, Technology transfer and Commercialization.
 Innovative Learning methods and Courses.
 Innovation in Governance of Institution
