From Director’s Desk

Dear Readers,

As the Director of CBCMT, it is a great honor and pleasure for
me to present to you all, CBCMT’s Newsletter for the year
2021-2022. CBCMT coming under the aegis of VIT, Vellore is
committed to furthering the Institute’s vision of transforming life
through excellence in teaching and research. The centre was
established in 2016 to provide a fillip to research in the niche
area of Cellular and Molecular Theranostics through
Biomaterials.

The centre has created an ambient setting / environment for encouraging excellence,
creativity and innovation among the numerous stakeholders in addition to offering
technological solutions in the area of biomaterials for diverse tissue engineering
applications. This will promote not only sustainability in research but also the
endurance of the centre's growth in delivering innovative solution towards various
real time problems.

I would like to showcase that our centre was able to fetch 10 crores INR worth of
research grants from various national and international agencies, file 3 patents and
secure 1 Industrial collaborative project. A start – up was also set up during this
period. The centre was successful in publishing more than 80 high quality peer-
reviewed articles in reputed journals.

I would like to congratulate all the members of CBCMT and wish them even greater
success in the following years to come in light of the significant accomplishments the
centre has made over the past year. I would also like extent a warm welcome to our
newly joined faculty members and the new batch of student joining the center. I
would also like to wish them success in their future endeavors. I would like to thank
VIT management for their endless support during the COVID pandemic through the
provision of generous grants which has allowed the centre to acquire state-of-art
equipment, infrastructural facilities and sustain the research activities. I hope the
centre will carry forward its legacy in the years ahead.
