About VIT
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, one of the premier institutes in India Tamil Nadu, was established in 1984. It is a major, comprehensive, student-centred research institution dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and service. VIT comprises of various schools and interdisciplinary research centres offering undergraduate, post graduate and research programmes in various engineering disciplines. The institute was established with the aim of providing quality higher education at par with International standards. VIT Vellore campus has a cosmopolitan atmosphere with students from all corners of the globe. About SMEC
School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC) is amongst the premier schools of VIT which started functioning right from 1984. The school has got a team of highly qualified faculty members, many holding PhDs from the elite institutes across the globe, to teach and train the best minds of this country. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, B. Tech. Mechanical with Specialization in Automotive Engineering, B. Tech. Mechanical with Specialization in Energy Engineering are accredited by Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. M.Tech degree programs like CAD/CAM, Mechatronics, Manufacturing and Mechanical with specialization in cyber physical systems are also offered to the students. ABOUT EVENT
GENERATE-A-THON is a National Level Competition, which provides prospects for the contestants to deal with the genuine problems faced by the people in day to day life and industries to come up with solutions. Todays, world is very complex system and problems generally are not solved in one single field. To find solutions to problems we need to work in interdisciplinary teams and in built environments where we can exchange new and bold knowledge and learn from each other.
The competition is organized by Department of Design and Automation, School of Mechanical Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, to opens the doors for the students. The event is organised with the motto to spread awareness about Generative Design. The event also promise to provide plenty of opportunities to the students to work on their skills and breathe life.
- The event is a 30-hour challenge and will be scheduled from 10 September 2021 (02 00 PM) - 11 September 2021 (08 00 PM).
The event will be organized in parallel with the Preconference workshop for UG, PG, and Research scholars. The problem statement for the competition will be given at the end of the Pre-Conference workshop "Future of Making-Generative Design for Industry 4.0". The declaration of the results will be done on 12 September 2021 in the Valedictory Ceremony.
