Besides, a parade event called “AIKYA” showcases the vast heritage
of India and its various cultures. It is a show of unity in
diversity.

Another unique scheme entitled STARS (Support The Advancement of
Rural Students) aims at uplifting the students from
socioeconomically weak backgrounds. A lot of students have been
able to move to very good positions in their life.

Further, VIT hosts several agricultural expos in support of local
farmers, and offers sports facilities for local schools.

7.1.9 - Sensitization of students and employees of the institution to constitutional obligations:
values, rights, duties and responsibilities of citizens:

Response:

VIT has a strong commitment in building the holistic development
of its students and employees and accords due emphasis in
inculcating Constitutional and Social responsibilities. The
institution does organize various events towards this objective.

The following are the various activities focused on inculcating
the values and responsibilities as responsible citizens:

Model United Nation – VITMUN - every year in the months of
August – September. The Model United Nation helps the
students exposed to various international issues including
climate change, global hunger, water crisis and sustainable
development
Another initiative called “Democracy Wall” is a free speech
campus initiative in collaboration with The Print.
Further, “Voter Enumeration and Awareness program” is
another initiative organized every year in collaboration
with State Election Commission.
Eminent economists gather at VIT every year for ‘Annual
Union Budget Discussion’.
Another vibrant student club called ‘VIT Fifth Pillar’
provides platform for students to discuss “Every vice
nagging society and the human condition”.
The debate club of the VIT - DEBSOC VIT hones the debating
skills of students.
