• 70.59% of schools of the institution are recognised by funding agencies such as DST-
FIST, DBT, ICSSR, ICMR.
• VIT Technology Business Incubator (VIT-TBI) was established in March 2003 with
funding assistance from DST and supports Innovative Technology start-ups.
• The institution has been using Turnitin software for plagiarism check since 2009.
• VIT has 203 vibrant clubs and chapters to facilitate active co-curricular student life.
• The Centre for Sustainable Rural Development and Research Studies (CSRD&RS) takes
care of outreach activities of VIT.
• VIT played lead role in projects like Clean Vellore Project, Clean Palar River, Green
Vellore Project, Village Resource Centre, Village Knowledge Centre, Swachh Bharat and
Vellore smart city.

o Total number of Scopus Indexed journal publications is 13189
o Total number of Books, Book Chapters and Conference Publications is 8799
o The current Scopus ‘h’ index (2019) of the Institution is 102
o Average citation index and h-index in Scopus/ Web of Science during last five years
are 4.89 and 69.5 respectively
o Scopus i-10 index 4054
o Revenue generated from consultancy and corporate training is Rs. 291.78 lakh
o 411 extension and outreach programmes conducted with about 77.6% of students
participation
o 93 functional MoUs are signed with institutions, other universities and industries
