FDP on Workshop on Project Based Learning


               The  Workshop  on Project  Based  Learning  was  conducted by  Carolina  Ruiz  and  Kris  Wobbe
               from the  Worcester Polytechnique Institute-WPI Center for Project Based Learning. The two
               day workshop was dated 11-12 April 2019. 29 Faculty benefitted from the hands on sessions.

               ASC - New Initiatives

               The establishment of the Online Studio for now named MOOC studio worth nearly 3 crores
               with the target date of August 2019 was the major initiative for ASC. This Assignment was
               taken care by ASC in Association with Centre for technical Support and Software development
               Cell.  The  Asst.Director, Dr.Srinivasan  Latha  and Dr.Ramalingam,  Director,  MOOC,  visited  IIT
               Madras,  IIM  Bangalore,  Sri  Ramachandra  Medical  University  and  JIPMER,  Pondicherry  for
               suggestions. Dr. Mangala Sundaram, IIT M, Dr. Kannan, IIT M, Dr. Sameer and Dr Sahana from
               IIT  Bombay  were  just  willing  to  share  all  their  knowledge  in  this  field.  Faculty  from  VIT
               interacted with the experts periodically .This year the focus was to decide the programs to be
               offered via on-line and parallel communication with UGC approval was sought. Dr.Srinivasan

               Latha  co-ordinated  the  preparatory  work  for  process  coordination  and  approval  process.
               three programs have been decided with the approval of HEI authorities, the same has been
               applied for UGC approval as per its Notification. Two courses in computer applications.The
               one  on  Bio-inspired  Design  under  the  leadership  of  Dr.  Ramalingam  was  taken  up  by  Dr.
               P.K.Suresh, Dr. Debashish and Dr. Amitava from School of Biosciences and Technology.
