About IANC

The Industry-Academia Networking Conclave (IANC) 2024 conclave aims at serving a platform to discuss and address thrust areas of the industries and galvanizes the efforts towards forging successful partnerships that would prove mutual benefits to the academia and Industry. This three-day conclave will be organized at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore.
The IANC 2024 aims to create a platform for open communication and collaboration between industry and academia. By bringing professionals from both sectors together, we hope to share knowledge, experience, expertise, and technology in order to better understand the areas where they can collaborate.
Furthermore, the conclave is aimed to promote the Institute's capabilities and facilities to industries, as well as to make students aware of the expectations of the industries in which they may work, thereby enhancing their knowledge and skills. The conclave's ultimate goal is to foster a mutually beneficial partnership between academia and industry that benefits everyone involved, resulting in technological advancement and the development of the next generation of professionals.

About SMEC

The School of Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and the most prestigious schools of VIT. This school started functioning right from 1984, the year in which our institution began. The School of Mechanical Engineering offers 3 undergraduate and 5 post-graduate programs. The school has a team of highly qualified faculty members, many holding PhDs from elite institutes across the globe, to teach and train the best minds in this country. The pride of the school lies in the significant research funding received from several National and International agencies such as DST, DRDO, MNRE, CSIT, CVRDE, AR&DB, BRNS, ISRO, NRB, Royal Academy of Engineering, British Council, etc. The Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India has recognized the school for its research activities and supported it in 2003, 2010 and 2022 under the FIST scheme. The school has modern facilities, enabling cutting-edge research in a wide spectrum of niche technological areas. The school is ranked 501-600 in the World as per THE World University Subject Ranking in 2021. Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering is ranked within the top 10 in India and top 251-300 in the world as per QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023.

About the Career Development Centre

The Career Development Centre plays an integral role in creating the illustrious placement record of VIT. It ensures smooth functioning of the placement activities in the campus. The CDC further facilitates training activities of the students and makes sure that they get placed in the best of both national and international companies. The office of CDC facilitates not only in getting placements but also arranging the internships.

    A report with a detailed Concept Design by the given information and specifications.
    Engineering design, details etc. of sensors, mechanisms, protocols, simulations etc. will be an added advantage.
    A physical prototype is not mandatory.

    Any software or open sources can be used, but need to be referenced/acknowledged

  • Discover the forefront of academic innovation at the Poster Presentation Session during IANC-24.

    This platform is designed to showcase the latest research and innovative ideas emerging from the academic community of SMEC, VIT.

    Target Participants: M.Tech students and PhD scholars affiliated with SMEC, VIT.


    Guidelines for Poster Submission and Participation :

    Abstract Submission Deadline: Submit your abstracts by February 28, 2024
    Notification of Selection: Authors of selected abstracts will be notified by February 29, 2024.
    Poster Submission Deadline: Final posters (in PDF format) must be uploaded by March 03, 2024, adhering to the provided template.
    Printing Assistance: While the IANC team will assist with printing, authors are responsible for covering printing charges.
    Poster Display: Posters will be displayed in the IANC poster display venue (CS hall) on March 6, 2024, from the evening onwards
    Verification and Presentation: The first author must verify their poster on March 6, 2024. They should be available for presentation and discussion during the inauguration session scheduled for March 7, 2024, and subsequent days of IANC.
    Networking Opportunities: Showcase your research to industry experts and explore potential collaborations and internship opportunities.
    Recognition: Top three posters will receive the certificates.
