Message from Convener

Dear Participants,

Greetings from the Centre for Functional Materials (CFM), Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India.

As the conveners of the International Conference on Functional Materials for Future Technology (IC-FMFT2023), we welcome you to the conference during 19th - 21st of April. This is a first of its kind from our newly formed research centre, CFM and we are excited to welcome you to the conference here in VIT Vellore. After the pandemic situation lasting for more than 2 years which affected the whole world, we are slowly coming back to normalcy, and we are organising this conference which will foster interactions between students and scientists across the globe. We have identified a few relevant topics from the future technological perspective. Through the three days of the conference, we will be engaging faculty/scientists from within India and across the globe.
The conference involves more than 30 invited lectures from experts in the area of quantum materials, Nanotechnology, Functional materials and devices, materials at the nanoscale, and magnetic materials. For any technologically developed society, the public at large needs to be well equipped with the science and innovation of the time. Our prime motivation for this conference would be to give an ambiance and opportunities for young and budding scientists who will shape India’s future in science and technology. Students will participate via oral and poster presentations showcasing their work to the scientific community. In general, the conference is interdisciplinary in nature and will have focused technical sessions throughout.
Our research centre is focussed on materials design from various techniques to device fabrication for future technologies. For any device to function optimally, interface engineering forms a major issue, and we are focussing on engineering the interfaces of materials at the atomic scale. We have experts who have graduated from premier institutes within India and from abroad. The Centre is also equipped with state-of-the-art fabrication and measurement facilities which are essential for ground-breaking innovations.
We strongly believe that one-to-one interaction with experts will enable the students to think and pursue their ideas in better ways. This conference is an ideal platform for postgraduate students and graduate students to enhance their scientific and technical knowledge which will benefit them in their studies.
Once again, we would love to have you all here and make this conference your own and get benefitted scientifically. Attending the conference will give you access to newer ideas and collaborations for the future. Let us all work together for a better society for tomorrow.
