VIT will take the lead to improve country’s economy through innovation in
agriculture. Use of IT in agriculture. Adopting the best practices of other
countries in our agriculture.
VIT will focus on breakthrough research and innovations in cyber physical
systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, cyber security,
cloud computing, IoT, smart cities, life sciences, energy, electric vehicle, fuel
cells, manufacturing, wearable technology, waste management,
nanotechnology, bio medical instruments and devices, Pharmaceuticals, food
safety, applied materials and other thrust areas of the country.
Transforming science into applied science research·
Increasing collaborations with top institutes of India and abroad.
Establish new research centres in strategic areas.
Attracting international funds in strategic areas, e.g technological solutions of
regional and national problems.

VIT is now focusing on reaching the top 500 universities of the world. 50%
weightage of QS ranking is based on academic and employer reputation survey
across the globe. It is important for VIT to make it visible so that academicians
and employers know that VIT is a good institution of India where people should
go and have an experience of learning and teaching. Connections make a
difference – VIT believes in making meaningful collaboration with other
universities and industries in India and abroad. Our target is to connect with top
500 universities of the world and also the top notch industries. More number of
VIT faculty members will be visiting top universities with research assignments.
Students will take part in global technical competitions. VIT will plan for social
engagement globally, helping poor and needy people through technological
solutions. VIT will be a part of all collaborative activities of Govt. of India. VIT
will explore new countries for collaboration and student exchange programmes.
At the same time VIT will strengthen its activities in those countries where
VIT has already an establishment.
