These Centres have recruited best faculty members who were trained from
prestigious national and international institutes to promote research leading to
products and services which will cater to the human needs and industrial needs of
our country. Specifically, VIT has well established Research Centres focussing
on Precision Agriculture, Clean energy, nanomaterials for electronics and
semiconductor industries, nano-biotechnology, green technologies, biopharma
industries, medical devices and cell therapy, automotive-electronics, latest
developments in computer sciences, robotics, including artificial intelligence and
data analytics. VIT will further strengthen the existing Centres by modernizing
the infrastructure to promote both interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research.
With the involvement of the Technology Business Incubator, VIT will further
strengthen the Patent Cell and Technology Transfer Cell to promote young
entrepreneurs to establish start-up companies in addition to industry-academia
collaborations. These activities are expected to fulfil the Govt. of India initiatives
such as, Grand Challenges of India, Make in India, Clean Energy Initiative,
Water Technology Initiatives, Swach Bharath Abhyan, National Biopharma
Mission, Drug Discovery Initiative, Health initiatives, Traditional medicine. VIT

will focus on intensification of research efforts in these areas which are very much
             needed for the country.

VIT will also enhance collaborative research efforts with both national and
international educational and research institutes, industries of various disciplines
to achieve the targeted goals. VIT has already started a novel scheme in
undergraduate curriculum called Technical Answers for Real World Problem
(TARP) which explores simple solutions for many real world problems faced by
common people. In addition, it will also establish good platform for the extension
of socially relevant research which will have direct impact in the society.
Importantly, it will focus on developing well trained younger generation of our
country to serve in the knowledge driven economy.
