Thin film technology has got wide spread applications starting from the micro- and nano-electronics field to storage, energy, automobile and biotechnology industry. The exotic properties of thin films are mainly decided by the associated thermodynamics which is uniquely dependent on the deposition method. This workshop is primarily focused on understanding the physics and technology of thin films and is mainly targeted at M.Tech. and M.Sc. Students.

This ideathon is to be conducted in the area of drug development and delivery systems. The journey involved in drug development is arduous and would generally take about 10-15 years for the medicine to reach the marketplace. Only, approximately 10% of the drugs that enter the clinical trial stage make it to the marketplace. Hence, the attrition rate and the consequent risk-benefit ratio is exceedingly high from the drug developer’s pointof- view. Among the various challenges, poor PK/PD profile (poor bioavailability) is one of the major factors contributing to drug failure.

The virtual workshop covers basics of different sequencing technologies together with online hands-on practical on genomic data analysis to the participants through UNIX based software tools from their own PC. (Tutorial on tools and working material will be provided). Key components of this workshop are pre-processing sequence reads, assembly, annotation (bacterial genome) and completeness assessment of whole genome sequence (web-server based). E-certificate will be given to the participants upon successful completion.
