COVID – BOOSTER DOSE VACCINATION CAMP

VIT Vellore has conducted a Booster dose vaccination camp for eligible beneficiaries, booster dose vaccination has been administrated to 1022 beneficiaries. Booster doses are administered to a vaccinated person that has completed a primary vaccination camp held in 2021 in four phases. The objective of a booster dose is to restore vaccine effectiveness from that deemed no longer sufficient.

The Booster Dose campaign is inaugurated by Founder and chancellor Dr.G.Viswanathan,VIT, Mr.Sankar Viswanathan – Vice President, VIT, Dr.Sekar Viswanathan, Vice President, VIT, Dr. Rambabu Kodali, Vice-Chancellor, Dr.S.Narayanan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, VIT were inaugurated the booster dose campaign for VIT family members.

COVID SUPPORT AND SOCIETAL CONNECTIVITY AWARD – VELLORE DISTRICT

On 73rd Republic Day, 26.01.2022, Dr.CR.Sundara Rajan, Assistant Director, CSRD&RS has received an award & certificate for meritorious social work during the COVID-19 pandemic in Vellore District from Mr. P.Kumaravel Pandian I.A.S, Vellore District Collector. The award is given to CSRD&RS for the COVID Support activities in Vellore District and enhanced the social connectivity development activities.

FIELD VISIT INSPECTION - COVID-19 INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT

Mr. Kumarvel Pandian, Vellore District collector, Vellore inspected the VIT, Vellore campus hostel for precaution preparatory field work in response of COVID -19 third wave. A 1000 bedded hospital is arranged in precaution of third wave of COVID-19 Omicron variant. Dr.CR.Sundara Rajan, Asst. Director – CSRD&RS and Deputy Collector, Revenue was there during the inspection.

DONATION OF Rs 1.50 CRORE - COVID -19 SECOND INSTALMENTS UNDER COVID RELIEF FUND

Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder-Chancellor, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), handed over a demand draft for Rs. 25 Lakhs to Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr. M. K. Stalin, in the presence of Mr. Duraimurugan, Minister for Water Resources, at the State Secretariat, towards Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund. VIT Vice Presidents, Mr. Sankar Viswanathan, Dr. Sekar Viswanathan and Dr. G. V. Selvam, were also present during the meeting.

Earlier, VIT had contributed Rs. 1.25 Crores to Tamil Nadu Chief Ministers Public Relief Fund. With the contribution of Rs. 25 Lakhs now, VIT has made a total contribution of Rs. 1.50 Crores to TNCMPRF.

COVID – BOOSTER DOSE VACCINATION CAMP

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) on Wednesday donated Rs 1.25 cr to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund (TNCMPRF) to help the government in its efforts to combat Covid-19.

VIT Founder and Chancellor G Viswanathan said the donation comes from the one-day salary donated by faculty and staff of VIT (Vellore and Chennai campuses) and contributions made by the management.

“VIT will provide all necessary help and support to the State Government in its fight against Covid-19 pandemic,” Viswanathan said. The State government has already set up a 1,000-bedded Covid care facility at the VIT Vellore campus to treat patients with Siddha medicines.

INAUGURATION OF SIDDHA HOSPITAL IN VIT, VELLORE

A Siddha hospital is inaugurated in VIT, Vellore campus by Mr.Durai Murugam, Minister of Water Resources, Govt.of Tamil Nadu and Member of Parliament Mr.D.Kathiranand, Vellore Constituency and Dr.G.V.Selvam, Vice President, VIT opened the 1000 bedded COVID -19 support centre. A Free Siddha Camps at Kalpana Chawla block to treat COVID19 patients with mild symptoms. Notably, these camps are said to have facilities as that of the private hospital. Only COVID19 confirmed patients will be admitted here based on the recommendation from the respective hospital where they were tested positive for COVID19.
