Welcome to our Centre, which is dedicated to the idea that all of us can learn to live happier, more fulfilling lives. We believe happiness is a skill and skills can be taught, practised, and shared.
True education at VIT is a journey of growth, balance, and self-discovery, built on the principle that happiness is a skill to be taught, practised, and shared. By treating happiness as a teachable skill, we empower our institution to learn, practice, and share lifelong well-being. Importance of Counselling
Seeking support from a professional about mental health is important in helping work through mental illness or mental health challenges. Oftentimes, we may go to our support system of friends or loved ones to help us with whatever troubles us. While that is a great resource for support, it is important to note that our friends or loved ones may not be adequately suited to guide us through this journey.
Counselling offers the opportunity to obtain the tools and skills needed to improve mental health. Engaging in the counselling process offers the chance to be an active participant in changing how one feels by unpacking thoughts, feelings and emotions in a safe, therapeutic environment.
Benefits of counselling
Both intellectually and mentally, the Counsellors at Vellore Institute of Technology are always available to meet the needs of their students. They are here to provide them with a variety of remedies for the emotional problems that they are experiencing. The Counsellors are lending a helping hand to the youngsters so that they can work through their problems at an earlier stage when they are still manageable.
Confidentiality is a virtue of the loyal, as loyalty is the virtue of faithfulness
At the time of your initial consultation, you will receive all of the information you require pertaining to privacy and confidentiality. Your Counsellor will go through this information with you and react to any questions or concerns that you might have. This would be acceptable behaviour according to the standards of the University.
