TEAM SAMMARD

Founded in 2017, Team Sammard is Vellore Institute of Technology's only rocketry team, focused on advancing student-led aerospace innovation. The team designs and builds sounding rockets, develops flight computers, and competes in global events like the International Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC-USA) and CanSat-USA.

Sammard has earned global recognition, ranking 7th in CanSat and 23rd in IREC, with past achievements including 1st in Asia-Pacific at CanSat 2018. The team specializes in rockets reaching 10,000 feet, CanSat satellites at 1,000 meters, and flight software like FLAIR for real-time data analysis. Notable projects include AGNEYA (2024), VAJRA (2023), and PINAKA (2022). By integrating CFD-based simulators and custom propulsion test benches, Sammard continues to push aerospace innovation forward.

TEAM UAV

Team UAV is an aerospace team under Creation Labs VIT, we develop all kinds of aircrafts from quadcopters and multirotor to ornithopters and fixed wings aircrafts. Founded in 2014 as a 6-member team, Team UAV is now 22 members strong. We are a dedicated team of students that strives to engineer an UAV of the highest calibre. Made up of completely undergraduate students, the team builds different types of aircrafts meeting the demands of problem statements provided by other parties and provides aerial solutions for the problems that we feel can be solved by use of our UAVs.

TEAM ROVERX

Team RoverX, a student-led team from Creation Labs, VIT University, designs and builds Mars Rover prototypes for global competitions. Since its establishment in 2015, the team has advanced space robotics, excelling in mobility, autonomous navigation, and scientific exploration. Competing in events like the International Rover Challenge (IRC), University Rover Challenge (URC), and International Rover Design Challenge (IRDC), RoverX has earned a reputation as a top student-run rover team.

RoverX's achievements include 2nd place at IRDC 2025, 4th at IRC 2025 with the Best Autonomous Expedition Mission Award, and a SAR score of 86/100 at URC 2024. Previous successes include 1st in Asia at IRC 2023, global victories at IRDC 2022 and 2021, and a SAR score of 91/100 at URC 2020. Continuously pushing robotic exploration boundaries, the team contributes to planetary research and space technology.

Team Levitate Hyperloop

Founded in April 2024, Team Levitate Hyperloop is a pioneering student technical team at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, dedicated to shaping the future of next-generation mobility through cutting-edge Hyperloop technology.

Within less than a year since its inception, Team Levitate emerged victorious at the Global Hyperloop Competition (GHC) 2025, held from 21st to 24th February 2025 at IIT Madras, securing six prestigious awards, including the Best DesignX Blueprint Award (Overall)—a testament to its excellence in system design, research, and documentation.

Driven by innovation and an unwavering commitment to engineering excellence, the team continues to push the boundaries of possibility in the global Hyperloop landscape.
