New tie up with EDUGILD to support Edtech start ups

Pune Based EDUGILD, India’s first EdTech start-up accelerator has partnered with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), one of the leading higher educational institutions in the world, to facilitate and support innovative EdTech start-ups amongst VIT and EDUGILD ecosystem.

This collaboration would help start-ups combine EdTech know-how, design, business acumen and technology to leap frog and scale up. EDUGILD will play a partnership role with VIT’s Tech Business Incubator (TBI) in terms of workshops, guidance and support for ideas to become opportunities. A team from VIT Vellore and EDUGILD has been assigned the task of regular engagement and periodic reviews of the progress.

Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, PhD, Vice President commented on the association “VIT has been in the forefront in implementing many innovations in the Higher Education domain. This association with Edugild would provide us an opportunity to interact with new age Edtech start-ups for mutual benefits.”

“Edtech is core to both EDUGILD and VIT Vellore, and now technology is a foundation and integral part of knowledge management. We believe it is critical for partners to nurture this ecosystem for tangible benefits to the start-ups,” said Rishi Kapal, CEO, Edugild.

EDUGILD is now open to applications for the second batch of its accelerator programme, commencing August 2016, with VIT TBI to be a key partner for facilitating the program. This collaboration model will in due course be replicable with multiple entities and institutes in the network.
