Prizes worth Rs. 3 lakhs given at INoVIT'16

At InoVIT-2016, a two-day south India-level science contest for school students, the team from Kalki Ranganathan Montford Higher Secondary School, Chennai, won the first prize for its project on bike safety system in the working model category.

In the poster presentation category, K.K. English School, Varuthur in Bengaluru won the first prize for its presentation on solid waste management,
Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Kochi, and Trips International, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, were declared joint winners in the idea presentation segment for their presentation on energy saving devices and use of solar energy respectively.

Prizes worth Rs. three lakh were presented to the winners.

Organised by VIT University, InoVIT was conducted for the fifth year.

Over 1,000 participants

Over 1,000 students from 150 schools in the States of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Puducherry took part in the contest, according to a press release issued here.
