1.62 Lakh students to takeup VITEEE

VIT Entrance Exam starts on April 10 in 163 centres across India and abroad

As many as 1.62 Lakh candidates who had applied for VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2019, conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore will take up the examination from April 10 to 21 in 163 centres in India, Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat and QatarVITEEE, the computer based exam is conducted for admission to various undergraduate programmes offered by VIT at its campuses in Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amaravati during academic year 2019-20.

Manivannan, Director UG Admissions, VIT witnessed the entrance examination at the Vellore campus. The entrance examination is being conducted for admission to 17 B.Tech programmes offered at VIT’s, Vellore campus, 7 B. Tech. programmes at its Chennai campus, 8 B.Tech. programmes at the Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) campus, and 9 B.Tech. programmes at the Bhopal campus The test is being conducted in three sessions daily, from 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

Of the 1.62 Lakh candidates who had applied for the VITEEE 2019, the maximum number-29,122 applications were from Andhra Pradesh, followed by Uttar Pradesh 17, 469, Tamilnadu 16,583, Telangana 16,027 and Maharashtra 14,798. Among the cities, Hyderabad topped the list for maximum applications with 13,574 applicants, Vijayawada 9815, Delhi 9094, Chennai 7943, Kota 6005, Vellore 2694 and Bhopal 1654. The results of VITEEE 2019 will be released in the VIT website, www.vit.ac.in by the end of April 2019.
GV School Development Programme

With its commitment to provide top quality education to deserving students, VIT offers total fee waiver for full duration of the course to students who top Class 12 Government public exams in the central and various state boards through the GV School Development Programme.Those who secure ranks 1 to 50 in VITEEE would get 75% fee waiver, those in the ranks 51 to 100 will be offered 50% waiver and 25% waiver for students in ranks 101 to 1000.
STARS Scheme

Free admission, including total fee waiver, and free boarding and hostel accommodation for all four years of the course would be provided to one boy and a girl each from all districts of Tamil Nadu who secure first rank at the district level from among government schools in rural areas.
