Translating science from bench to bed - Cytosensors technology for the detection of circulating tumor cells

Translating science from bench to bed is always at the heart of the research activities performed at CBCMT. This philosophy was imbibed well by all the members of the CBCMT family, which is evident from the recent achievement of our students. We, at CBCMT, are very happy to share that three of our Ph.D. students, Dhanashree M, Shobana S, Janarthanan V have won the "VIT’s student start-up venture grant" worth INR 40,000 to probe into cytosensors technology for the detection of circulating tumor cells. We congratulate all three students and their mentor, Dr. Loganathan Rangasamy for getting this grant, which will help them further this technology to higher TRLs. Hope to see this great technology shaping as a product soon! Wish the team a very grand success in this project.

DUCOM Instruments endorses CBCMT's research on Tribocorrossion

Lab to Market translated product from CBCMT through Consulting Project

It gives immense happiness and satisfaction when science translates from lab to market!

We, at CBCMT, VIT Vellore are happy that a project sponsored by a start-up, Svante Group and investigated by one of our faculty, Dr Arunkumar Palaniappan had finally reached market. The product “Naturospray” is a non-toxic green nanotechnology-based spray solution for garments, which have excellent anti-microbial and skin soothening properties. The formulation is found to be effective against several skin ailments such as eczema, psoriasis, and contact dermatitis.

The principal investigator of this consultancy project, Dr. Arunkumar is really excited about the translation of this nanotechnology-based product from his lab to market. He is thankful to the institute for giving the required facilities to execute this project in a time bound manner even during pandemic time. We congratulate Dr. Arunkumar and his team on this success and wish the startup team a great success ahead.

Svante Group, a startup founded by Ms. Isha Aggarwal and Ms. Kavya Bhupal with a vision of providing holistic clothing solutions using green technologies. The project involves developing a green nano-formulation as a spray solution for textile fabrics. The main novelty of the project is that the nano-formulation is synthesized with plant-based active ingredients and with safe biomaterials, which is found to have good anti-microbial properties and skin soothening properties.
