Programmes

VIT Community Radio runs both on-air programs and on-ground events for the development of the Vellore community. The on-ground events focus on community development initiatives through workshops, school competitions, and awareness programs. The on-air programs are organized in three phases. Phase I produces programs with VIT Teamspeak, the club of VIT CR, and other clubs and chapters in VIT. Phase II produces programs in association with schools and colleges around Vellore. Phase III produces programs involving the people in the community. The idea behind this working model is to produce a variety of quality programs and varied content.

VIT CR produces programs primarily in Tamil and English, followed by Telugu and Hindi. It shares its programs with everyone through Spotify, YouTube, and other podcast channels.

    This debate/discussion explores new waves of thoughts. Each episode has an interesting title that is relevant and useful for the listeners and the society.

  • Arivom Aayiram

    This is an informal programme packed with chats and information.

  • Anubava Medai

    Every episode of Anubava Medai portrays the life experiences of ordinary men and women. This is an interview based programme.

  • Dhinam Oru Thiravukool

    This programme shares a new way to observe our world from an expert’s point of view. Dr. Tamilselvan, Mrs. Jagadha Tamilselvan, Mr. Ramasamy, Mr. TGM Ganesan are the hosts who provide various information for the empowerment of the community.

  • Karuthukalam

    This Vox Populi from VIT Community Radio provides an opportunity for the people to express their ideas and thoughts on several subjects / issues.

  • Maruthuva Neram

    It is an interview series which interviews doctors and consultants of various medical areas.

  • Manvaasanai / Dhinam Oru Velaan Seithi

    Agriculture-based informative daily programs with experts and practitioners. Dhinam Oru Velaan Seithi is a dedicated radio segment produced by VAIAL students in Vellore.

  • Pallikoodam

    This programme introduces new voices from the schools of Vellore, particularly from primary school students.

  • Sevichelvam

    This Tamil programme attempts to create a full-fledged encyclopedia in audio format.

  • Valunar Paarvai

    An interview series from experts in various fields, this programme provides in-depth information of the particular field, which will be understood by the general public.

  • Data Chunks

    This English programme attempts to create a full-fledged encyclopedia in audio format.

  • Exchange of Ideas

    This debate programme explores new waves of thought from the student community. In each episode students debate on valuable topics.

  • Experts Talk

    An Interview series from the experts of various fields. This programme will give more information from the particular field, which will be understood by a common man and woman.

  • Noble Lectures

    This is a formal lecture programme delivered by the intellectuals from VIT University.

  • Second Look

    This programme introduces and reviews books, films and other literary works.

  • Teamspeak Time

    This is an amalgam of programmes on various topics from the Teamspeak students.

  • Travel Bonanza

    This is a travelogue in VIT Community Radio which covers special locations from different views in English.

  • Thiraikadaloodi

    This is a travelogue in VIT Community Radio which covers special locations from different views in Tamil

  • VIT Achievers

    Students of VIT who win a prize or an award inside or outside campus share their experiences, their struggle to success and future goals they wish to pursue.
