Effective collaboration between regional non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and government agencies is critical for creating and implementing SDG policies at both the national and regional levels. Vellore Institute of Technology prioritizes these collaborations because they ensure that SDG policies are founded on real-world concerns, local expertise, and inclusive methods. We have provided few events which were conducted in association with various NGOs.

EVENT I : VIT – CSRD&RS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT INNOVATIVE INSTITUTE, CHENNAI AND TAHDCO OF VELLORE DISTRICT
The Department of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare, also known as Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare (TAHDCO), is a system developed by the Tamil Nadu government in collaboration with the Government of India to benefit the state’s scheduled and tribal castes. Around 20% of the population in Tamil Nadu is made up of SCs and STs (2001), and to help these extremely backward and underprivileged citizens, TAHDCO, which was founded as a construction company in 1974, runs a number of schemes for skill development and income generation for the economically poorest sections of society. VIT in association with TAHDCO conducted Entrepreneurship Development training programme during 13.02.2023 to 20.02.2023 Around 50 participants were benefitted from this program.
VIT – CSRD&RS, Entrepreneurship Development innovative Institute, Chennai and TAHDCO of Vellore District jointly organized seven days training programme on Entrepreneurship development for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribal (ST) community to commence their own SME ventures in supportive from Government schemes with subsidy services. Event II : COMPUTER TRAINING FOR VISUALLY CHALLENGED IN VELLORE DISTRICT (In Association with Vellore Blind Association)
VIT – CSRD&RS and Vellore Blind people association jointly organized a 3 days computer training programme for visually challenged people. 42 male and 35 female candidates were directly benefited from the training programme. The training programme is conducted in support of VIT – CTS team, Blind association, Vellore and CSRD&RS team members.

EVENT III : MEGA JOB FAIR 2023 IN VIT
DATE: MAY 11, 2023
VIT – CSRD&RS and Vellore District employment office cum Skill development centre jointly organized a mega Job fair 2023 in VIT, Vellore campus on May 11, 2023. This event benefitted unemployed youth and passed out students of Vellore Institute of Technology. The fair was attended by over 100 companies from various industries, including IT, engineering, finance, and healthcare etc., the fair provided students with an opportunity to meet with recruiters from different companies and learn about job opportunities.
Students were also able to participate in mock interviews and workshops on resume writing and interview skills. The job fair was a success, with many students finding jobs or internships. It also helped to raise awareness of VIT among potential employers. It provided students an opportunity to meet with recruiters from different companies and learn about new opportunities. Students were also able to participate in mock interviews and workshops on resume writing and interview skills.

- The job market is strong for recent graduates.
- Totally 4500 people were attended the Job fair 2023

EVENT IV : VIT – CSRD&RS – DARSHINI, ADYAR, CHENNAI COMPUTER TRAINING FOR VISUALLY CHALLENGED PEOPLE Date: 15.05.2023 to 21.05.2023
VIT – CSRD&RS, CTS Department and Darshini Foundation, Adyar, Chennai jointly organized seven days in house computer training programme for visually challenged people. 40 males and 30 females’ candidates were directly benefited from the training programme.

EVENT V: WOMEN SKILL DEVELOPMENT – PAININTING SKILL IN ASSOCIATION WITH NIPPON PAINT INDIA PVT LTD FOR WOMEN SHG MEMBERS
Date: 14.05.2023 to 29.05.2023
VIT – CSRD&RS in association with Nippon Paint India Pvt Ltd, First batch of training has completed in serkadu Village Panchayat for 20 women candidates. Here all the training cum practices from basic to intermediate has been taught to the candidates and made them to paint he Panchayat office by themselves. After the post programme a job assist also ensured in painting contract in Vellore district.
EVENT VI: SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING ON PAINTING SKILL FOR DESTITUTE WOMEN IN TIRUPATHUR DISTRICT
Date: 05.10.2023 to 25.10.2023
NGO Name : SRDPS, Tirupathur District
The CSRD&RS, VIT, Vellore and SRDPS – Society for Rural Development and Promotion Services, Tirupathur District in collaboration with Nippon Paint, India Pvt, Ltd conducted 15 days Skill Development training programme on “Painting skill for Destitute and orphan Women” in Tripattur District.
