Water-conscious building standards

Minimising water usage and water wastage is one of the critical elements of Institutional campus planning and capacity building. With this objective the following measures are being taken.

  • Planned rainwater harvesting system for the whole campus
  • Green audit for all existing buildings and green audit certification for all new buildings
  • A comprehensive system for maintaining and protecting institutional water bodies
  • Water efficient fittings at all usage points
  • Periodic maintenance waterlines to prevent water wastage

Taps with Sensor and pressing types are provided for wash basins and urinal basins to save the water. For gardening, water sprinklers are connected to optimise the water usage.
