Upgrade buildings to higher energy efficiency

The Institution has taken many energy efficient initiatives in its existing buildings and in all new construction activities. The instantiates include :

  • Installation of District Cooling System for all air-conditioning applications to attain (i) A substantial reduction in total installed capacity of air-conditioning systems and (ii) Better operational efficiency at part – load operations

  • Use of energy efficient lightings, electrical appliances and motors in all new constructions

  • Installation of solar heating systems in hostels and quarters buildings

  • Opting for Architecture facilitating natural lighting and ventilation (Mahatma Gandhi Block)

  • All replacements of existing facilities to happen with energy efficient alternatives

  • Green Audit Certification for all new buildings

  • Periodic energy audit to minimize energy wastage and improve efficiency
