The Institution has taken many energy efficient initiatives in its existing buildings and in all new construction activities. The instantiates include :

Installation of District Cooling System for all air-conditioning applications to attain (i) A substantial reduction in total installed capacity of air-conditioning systems and (ii) Better operational efficiency at part – load operations

Use of energy efficient lightings, electrical appliances and motors in all new constructions

Installation of solar heating systems in hostels and quarters buildings

Opting for Architecture facilitating natural lighting and ventilation (Mahatma Gandhi Block)

All replacements of existing facilities to happen with energy efficient alternatives

Green Audit Certification for all new buildings

Periodic energy audit to minimize energy wastage and improve efficiency
