The “RJ Workshop for School Students,” hosted by VIT Community Radio, spanned five dynamic days, offering a comprehensive introduction to radio broadcasting and Radio Jockeying (RJ).

Day 1 commenced with a motivating talk by Dr. R Subashini, VIT CR i/c, encouraging students to embrace continuous learning and active engagement in radio talk. Following this, RJ Anand and RJ Saravana Karthick covered the fundamentals of radio jockeying.

On Day 2, RJ Nirmal from Hello FM, Vellore, shared his extensive radio journey. His feedback helped students enhance their storytelling scripts, guiding them from drafts to polished final versions.

Day 3 featured hands-on recording sessions led by Mr. Palani, where students discussed specific topics. RJ Saravana Karthick provided script revisions, and RJ Anand conducted an inspiring storytelling session, fostering creativity and narrative skills. The students delved deeper into the intricacies of radio broadcasting, refining their abilities to captivate listeners.

During Day 4, students showcased their original stories in a reading session. Guided by RJ Anand and overseen by Mr. Palani and RJ Saravana Karthick, they honed their creativity and presentation skills, further enriched through story rewrites and recordings.

The workshop culminated on Day 5 with an exhilarating Radio Quiz, hosted by RJ Saravana Karthick and RJ Anand, and recorded by Mr. Palani. Five enthusiastic teams participated, adding a competitive yet fun spirit to the event. The final day concluded with a feedback session, blending text and audio reviews.
The workshop was a resounding success, with 30 students from grades 8 to 12 engaging in radio talk, storytelling, and quizzes. Under the guidance of Dr. Subashini R, the workshop sparked creativity and effective communication, ending with students receiving certificates of accomplishment, filled with joy and pride.
