VIT proudly inaugurated the International Conference on Sustainable Technologies for Energy, Environment and Health (IC-STEEH) 2025 today, marking the beginning of a three-day global dialogue on critical sustainability challenges. The prestigious conference, a contemporary initiative directly addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is a collaborative effort by the School of Advanced Sciences (SAS), School of Bio Sciences and Technology (SBST), School of Civil Engineering (SCE), School of Chemical Engineering (SCHEME), and VIT School of Agricultural Innovations And Advanced Learning (VAIAL).
The inaugural ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Prof. Józef Tadeusz Haponiuk, Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland, and Guest of Honour Mr. K. Rajeevan, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Water & Effluent Treatment IC, L&T Construction, Chennai. They were joined on the dais by VIT’s Hon’ble Founder and Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan, Vice President Mr. Sankar Viswanathan, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Partha Sharathi Mallick, Registrar Dr. Jayabarathi T., and the Deans of the organising schools. A significant moment during the inauguration was the official release of the conference abstracts by Honourable Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan, with the first copy received by Chief Guest Prof. Józef Tadeusz Haponiuk. Officials from the main sponsors, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and IOP Publishing, were also honoured during the event.
IC-STEEH 2025 has garnered immense international interest, attracting nearly 100 participants from 10 countries and 20 states across India. The conference received an impressive 309 abstracts, from which 139 have been selected for oral presentations and 172 for poster presentations, promising a rich exchange of cutting-edge research and innovative solutions. This conference stands as a testament to VIT’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and driving progress towards a sustainable future.
