Vellore Giants Unite: VIT and CMC Join Forces to Revolutionize Healthcare Innovation

We are proud to announce that VIT and Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bridge the gap between technical research and clinical application. The agreement was signed by Dr. Solomon Sathishkumar, Principal, CMC, and Dr. Jayabarathi, Registrar, VIT, in the presence of our Founder and Chancellor, Dr. G. Viswanathan, CMC Director Dr. Biju George, VIT Vice Presidents Dr. Sankar Viswanathan and Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Executive Director Dr. Sandhya Pentareddy, Vice Chancellor Dr. V. S. Kanchana Bhaaskaran, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Partha Sharathi Mallick, Dean – School of Health Sciences and Engineering (SHINE), VIT, and Dr. Deephak Selvaraj, Associate Director, CMC Ranipet Campus.

This partnership isn’t just a formality—it’s a collaborative engine designed to:

  • Joint R&D: Tackle complex healthcare challenges through bio-engineering, bio-informatics, and bio-materials.
  • Knowledge Exchange: Facilitate a fluid flow of scientific data and academic brilliance between professors and students.
  • Pioneering Solutions: Combine CMC’s historic clinical legacy (home of India’s first kidney transplant and bone marrow transplant) with VIT’s technological prowess.

As our Chancellor noted, CMC’s history of “firsts” makes them the ideal partner to help VIT’s bio-engineering advancements reach the patients who need them most. Dr. Solomon Sathishkumar, Principal, CMC, highlighted that VIT’s leadership in higher education provides the perfect technical complement to CMC’s clinical expertise.

We look forward to seeing our researchers work side-by-side to solve the healthcare hurdles of tomorrow.
