Advancing Bioscience Innovation: VIT and TIBR Partner for Industry-Integrated Doctoral Research
Innovation thrives when academia and industry align. VIT and TIBR (Travancore Institute for Bioscience Research) have officially signed an MoU to support doctoral candidates of Travancore Institute through the EPT PhD Programme.
The MoU was exchanged by Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder & Chancellor, VIT and Mr. Anooj Raj, Founder & Managing Director, Travancore Institute for Bioscience Research (TIBR), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Mr. Anooj is a VIT alumna from the Class of 2014 of Master of Science (MS), Biotechnology.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Sankar Viswanathan, Vice President, VIT; Dr. Kanchana Bhaaskaran, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Samuel Rajkumar, Director – Continuing Professional Development (CPD) & Career Development Centre (CDC); Dr. Anand A., Associate Dean – School of Biosciences and Technology (SBST); Dr. Ramanathan K., Deputy Director – CDC; Dr. Jayakumar S. & Dr. Jayakrishnan P., Assistant Directors – CDC, Dr. Vanitha R., CPD and Ms. Sudha R., Manager, Technology Business Incubator (VIT-TBI).
This initiative allows industry experts to pursue high-level research under the joint guidance of VIT faculty and TIBR mentors. From joint patent filings to professional scholarly development, this partnership is set to redefine research standards in the bioscience industry.
