Powering the EV Revolution: VIT Partners with Bajaj Auto Foundation to Establish ₹15 Crore ‘BEST’ Centre for Advanced Engineering
We are thrilled to announce that VIT has signed an MoU with the Bajaj Auto Foundation to establish the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) Centre on our Vellore campus! As the EV and electronics sectors in India skyrocket, the BEST Centre will ensure our graduates aren’t just “degree-ready” but “industry-ready.”
With an investment of ₹15 Crores, this state-of-the-art facility will focus on two critical future-tech verticals:
- E-Mobility: EV Architecture, Battery Tech, and Charging Systems.
- Electronics Manufacturing Systems (EMS): PCB Design, SMT, and Quality Inspection.
What does this mean for students?
- Access to state-of-the-art automotive tech.
- Practical experience in automation and advanced manufacturing.
- Enhanced employability for engineering and diploma holders.
The MoU exchange was formalised by our Founder & Chancellor, Dr. G. Viswanathan and Mr. Sudhakar Gudipati, VP-CSR, Bajaj Auto Foundation. Mr. Ramesh V, Head – CSR, Bajaj Auto Foundation, outlined the initiative’s vision and highlighted scholarship schemes for socio-economically disadvantaged students to ensure inclusive access to quality skill development. Dr. Sankar Viswanathan & Dr. Sekar Viswanathan, Vice Presidents, VIT; Dr. Kanchana Bhaaskaran, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Partha Sharathi Mallick, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Dr. Jayabarathi T., Registrar, and other faculty members were present during the occasion.
This hub will focus on Industry 4.0, automation, and advanced manufacturing to make our graduates truly industry-ready. We look forward to turning our infrastructure into a powerhouse of innovation!
