Eligibility

(i) Nationality

The applicants for admission should be a Resident Indian National and should have studied in regular, full time and formal education schools located in India in the preceding two years. (10 +2 year)

(ii) NRI/Foreigners should apply through separate application

Eligibility Criteria for VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT-AP & VIT Bhopal

1. General Eligibility

(i) VIT-Vellore and VIT-Chennai Campus:

A pass in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State / Central Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with 70% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).

(ii) VIT – AP and VIT Bhopal Campus:

A pass in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State / Central Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with 65% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).

2. For SC/ST, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and North Eastern states:

(i) VIT-Vellore and VIT-Chennai Campus:

The Qualifying Marks is relaxed by 10% i.e. 60% in PCM for applicants belong to SC/ST and applicants hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim & Tripura

(ii) VIT – AP and VIT Bhopal Campus:

The Qualifying Marks is relaxed by 10% i.e. 55% in PCM for applicants belong to SC/ST and applicants hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim & Tripura

3. Age Limit:

Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 01.07.2005 are eligible to apply

4. Important notes:
a) Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.
b) Applicants belonging to SC/ST category should submit community certificate.
c) Applicants hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. They should submit Nativity Certificate.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

  • Applications are processed in the order of merit, based on the aggregate of marks (rounded to 2 decimal points) secured in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the +2 / Higher Secondary & Intermediate Examination.

  • In case the Normalization Marks are same, the order of merit will be decided based on the best scores in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry sequentially, also based on total obtained scores in all subjects.

  • Short listed applicants list will be published on 04.06.2025 (Tentative) after that , applicants can give their campus and program preferences on 04.06.2025 to 06.06.2025 (i.e., Applicants can give “n” number of choices)

  • Seat will be allotted based on Rank, Preference of Campus, Programme (Subject to availability).

  • Once Allotment is done on 10.06.2025 (Campus, Programme), it cannot be changed under any circumstances.

  • Selected applicants will receive their Provisional Admission Letter to pay their Tuition Fees through online mode on or before 20.06.2025 (Friday).

  • The Orientation & Commencement of classes to be announced through mail.

How To Apply ?

New User Registration

  • Applicants has to apply only through Online Mode on VIT website, www.vit.ac.in
  • Valid e-mail address and active mobile number are required.
  • Enter all the relevant details carefully.
  • An OTP will be sent to your Registered Indian Mobile Number for verification.
  • Once OTP is validated, a password will be sent to your registered email address.
  • All the correspondence shall be made to the registered email address and mobile number only.

Filling online Application Form

  • Fill in the relevant fields carefully. An Application Number will be generated after filling primary details.
  • Refer this application number in all your future correspondence

Payment Process

  • Payment cost of Rs. 600/- should be paid through Netbanking /Credit card/Debit card/Paytm.
  • Application cost is non-refundable

  • Applicants need to upload the following mentioned documents on the application portal, subject to their availability within the specified time frame.
  • Copy of Birth certificate
  • Copy of 10th Class Marksheet
  • Copy of 12th Class Marksheet / Statement
  • Copy of 12th Exam Hall Ticket / Admit Card

  • Transfer / Migration / School/College Leaving Certificate obtained from the Institute last studied (Original)

  • 2 copies of recent passport size colour photograph
  • Photo copies

  • Copy of Provisional Admission Letter.

  • Admission First year Fee receipt - including Hostels (if any)

  • Class - X mark sheet (as a proof of date of birth)

  • Class - XII mark sheet of Qualifying Examination

  • Mark List of Improvement (if any)

  • Birth Certificate (mandatory if DOB is not mentioned in 10 th Certificate)

  • Community Certificate (only for SC/ST categories)

  • Nativity Certificate (if applicable)

  • Aadhaar Card copy

  • Important Notes:

  • If any information or the provided certificate is found false at any stage of the Admission process, the admission will be cancelled and suitable legal action will be taken.

  • University Registration Number will be generated to the candidates those who have submitted the above documents only.

  • In due of original TC submitted, a TC from VIT will be issued on completion of the course. The candidates should produce statement of final year marks and provisional degree certificate before 15th August, 2025 failing which admission will be cancelled with the forfeit of admission fee.
