Bridging Ambition and Innovation: VIT Hosts 6th Edition of Industry Academia Networking Conclave (IANC 2026)
The Industry Academia Networking Conclave (IANC 2026) was held on 24th March, 2026! Organised by the School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC) and Career Development Centre (CDC), the theme of the 6th Edition of IANC was “Reimagining Mechanical Engineering in the Digital Era”.
We were honoured to welcome Dr. Shankar Venugopal, Vice President, Technology Innovation, Mahindra & Mahindra, Chennai, as Chief Guest and our distinguished alumnus from the 1992 batch of B.E Mechanical Engineering, Mr. S. Murugesan, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Rane (Madras) Limited, Steering and Linkage Division, Chennai, for the inaugural function. Joining them on the dais were our Vice President Dr. Sankar Viswanathan, Vice Chancellor Dr. Kanchana Bhaaskaran, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Partha Sharathi Mallick, Registrar Dr. Jayabarathi T., Dean-SMEC Dr. Kuppan P. and Director-CDC Dr. Samuel Rajkumar.
What’s happening at IANC 2026:
- Phase 1 (Happening Now): 4 panel discussions, 11 plenary sessions, student expos, and high-energy Designathons.
- Phase 2 (April 16): We’re taking the conversation to Pune to connect with the core industries in the region.
With 45 delegates from 32 leading organisations, we are fostering the next generation of internships, tech development, and industrial collaboration. As part of the conclave an expo was also organised displaying the prototypes and achievements of our various student technical teams.
