Population ageing is a pertinent issue in society. Evidence-based policymaking requires an ability to extract insights from appropriate datasets. This Pre-Conference workshop is designed to introduce one of the world’s largest ageing databases, the Longitudinal Ageing Study in India (LASI). LASI is one of the sister surveys of the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) of the US and is comparable with similar surveys conducted around different regions and countries. The workshop will use applied techniques to learn the LASI database and the participants are expected to initiate their own study. During the workshop, the participants will also learn the basics of data management, and analysis using Stata software.
