“Highly Noble Person Award” by the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North Americans (FeTNA)
In yet another feather to his cap, honourable Chancellor Dr. G.Viswanathan was honoured “Highly Noble Person Award” by the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North Americans (FeTNA) in Raliegh, North Carolina, USA, recently.
Dr. G.Viswanathan was awarded for his visionary leadership in founding VIT and shaping world class higher education in India. The citation also mentioned his contribution to education, politics and societal development.
Around 38 years ago, the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA) was established. FeTNA integrates 70 tamil sangams in North America and promotes tamil language, culture, literature, trade and development.
FeTna every year celebrates annual conference and presents awards to distinguished tamils for their achievement in education, cinema and literature. This year, the coveted award was presented to the Chancellor

அமெரிக்காவின் வடகரோலினாவில் உள்ள ராலேவில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சியில் சர்வதேச அளவில் உயர்கல்வி வளர்ச்சிக்காக ஆற்றி வரும் பங்களிப்பை கவுரவிக்கும் வகையில், வேலூர் விஐடி பல்கலைக்கழக வேந்தர் டாக்டர் கோ.விசுவநாதன் அவர்களுக்கு வடஅமெரிக்க தமிழ்ச்சங்கப் பேரவை சார்பில் “உயர்தனிச் செம்மல் விருது” வழங்கி சிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டது.
அமெரிக்காவில் வட கரோலினாவில் உள்ள ராலேவில் வடஅமெரிக்க தமிழ்ச்சங்கப் பேரவை (Federation of Tamil Sangams of North Americans- FeTna) செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது.
தமிழர் மேம்பாட்டை முக்கிய அம்சமாகக் கொண்டு வட அமெரிக்காவில் 70-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட தமிழ் சங்கங்களை ஒருங்கிணைத்து கடந்த 38 ஆண்டுகளாக தமிழ் மொழி, பண்பாடு, மரபு, கலை, இலக்கியம், தொழில் வளர்ச்சிக்கு வடஅமெரிக்க தமிழ்ச்சங்கப் பேரவை சேவை செய்து வருகிறது. உலகத் தமிழர்களிடையே ஒற்றுமையை வளர்க்கும் வகையில் வருடாந்திர மாநாடும் நடத்தி வருகிறது.
அதன் ஒரு பகுதியாக, சர்வதேச அளவில் உயர்கல்வியில் சிறப்பான சேவை புரிந்து வரும் வேலூர் விஐடி பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் வேந்தர் டாக்டர் கோ.விசுவநாதனுக்கு, வட கரோலினாவில் உள்ள ராலேவில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சியில் வட அமெரிக்க தமிழ்ச் சங்கப் பேரவை “உயர்தனிச் செம்மல் விருது” வழங்கி கவுரவித்துள்ளது.
விருது வழங்கும் விழாவில் விஐடி துணைத் தலைவர் முனைவர். ஜி.வி.செல்வம், பன்னாட்டு உறவுகளுக்கான இயக்குநர் முனைவர். ஆர்.சீனிவாசன் மற்றும் வட அமெரிக்க தமிழ் சங்கப் பேரவையின் நிர்வாகிகள் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
