Er. V. Arutselvan is a highly experienced power systems professional with an illustrious career spanning 37 years in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TANGEDCO/TANTRANSCO). His expertise encompasses power distribution, substation operation, grid management, and equipment maintenance, with significant hands-on experience in HT/LT line maintenance and breakdown management.
During his service, he played a vital role in ensuring reliable power delivery through effective distribution system management, loss reduction strategies, and preventive and corrective maintenance practices. He also possesses specialized expertise in EHT hot-line maintenance, contributing to improved system reliability and reduced downtime.
Post-retirement, he continues to contribute actively to the sector as a technical trainer and mentor. He is associated with the TANGEDCO Technical Training Center, where he delivers training programs for utility personnel. Additionally, he serves as a Visiting Faculty at APCA, Vellore (Regional Academy for Prisons and Correctional Administration).

Ramesh is a highly experienced electrical and electronics professional with over 35 years of industrial experience in product development, engineering, system integration, validation, project management, customer support, and laboratory management. He has held senior technical and R&D positions with reputed organizations including Lakshmi Machine Works Limited, ELGI Equipments Limited, and Danfoss Industries Pvt. Ltd.
His professional expertise includes Power Electronics, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), electrical and electronic systems, industrial controls, product development, system integration, product validation, energy efficiency, and reliability engineering. He has extensive experience in developing electrical/electronic systems and controls for textile machinery, compressors, garage equipment, and power-electronics-based applications.
He has also played a significant role in establishing and managing advanced testing and laboratory infrastructure, including high-power electrical/electronic test systems, UL and CE testing facilities, EMI/EMC test infrastructure, hardware and software development test systems, and power module qualification facilities. His experience extends to quality systems, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 17025, Six Sigma, calibration, and laboratory process management.Hehas strong experience in industry–academia engagement, including establishing laboratories and Centres of Excellence, developing industry-ready curricula, conducting training programmes, and supporting university innovation initiatives.
He has received recognition for his contributions, including Best Employee of Quarter and Best Employee of Year awards at ELGI Equipments and an Excellence in Quality and Execution award at Danfoss Industries. He is also a co-inventor of an international patent relating to capacity control in screw compressors and has several Scopus-indexed journal and conference publications in the area of Variable Frequency Drives and power electronics.

Dr. Somasundaram Balasubramaniam is a seasoned Digital Transformation Leader with 24+ years of industry experience spanning manufacturing, Industry 4.0, digital transformation, and emerging technologies. He has previously held senior leadership positions, including Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and Head of Digital Transformation, in leading multinational organizations.
He has successfully led and delivered 70+ digital transformation projects across global manufacturing ecosystems and multiple countries, with expertise in Digital Twins, AI/ML, AR/VR, RPA, Data Analytics, Smart Manufacturing, and Industrial IoT. His work focuses on developing scalable digital ecosystems and implementing the “Start Small, Scale Fast” approach for sustainable digital transformation.
He has extensive expertise in Digital Twin Technology, Smart Manufacturing, Predictive Maintenance, Energy Analytics, Lean Six Sigma, and Industrial Digitalization. He has hands-on experience in developing industrial solutions including machine monitoring systems, energy analytics platforms, predictive maintenance solutions, and simulation-based manufacturing applications.
As a Professor of Practice, he actively contributes to academia–industry collaboration through workshops, training programmes, experiential learning, and mentoring. He has authored research publications and mentored hundreds of students and professionals in emerging technologies and digital transformation.
He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (Data Science) and advanced qualifications from IIM Rohtak, IIIT Bangalore, and Liverpool John Moores University, UK. He is also certified as an ISO 50001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt, and Industrial Cybersecurity Expert.
