VIT has been honoured with Careers360’s prestigious Research Excellence Award 2026 in the ‘Universities’ domain at the India Research and Impact Summit (IRIS) 2026, New Delhi. This recognition highlights our institution’s sustained commitment to research, scholarly impact, and advancing higher education in India. The award was proudly received by our Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. V. S. Kanchana Bhaaskaran. The honour was presented by Padma Shri Dr. G. D. Yadav, Former Vice Chancellor, Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, in the presence of our Vice President Dr. Sekar Viswanathan and other distinguished leaders, policy makers, and academicians from across the nation. This achievement reflects the rigorous evaluation of our five-year research performance across multi-dimensional NIRF and Scopus parameters. We dedicate this recognition to our visionary management, dynamic faculty, dedicated researchers, and students, whose relentless pursuit of innovation continues to drive VIT’s academic excellence.

Dr. Sekar Viswanathan also represented VIT as a distinguished panellist at the summit, sharing insights during the discussion on the topic – From Labs to Legislation: How should India measure research on Policy, Business and Social Impact? Alongside eminent co-panellists including leaders from O.P. Jindal Global University, IIM Ahmedabad, ISB Hyderabad, IFHE Hyderabad, and IMT Ghaziabad, he discussed actionable frameworks for evaluating research beyond traditional output to truly reflect its real-world policy, business, and societal contributions.
