VIT Vellore and I-STEM Empower Next-Gen Scientists through Intensive Instrumentation Training
We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the three-day intensive I-RISE Operator Training Program (I-OTP) at VIT Vellore! Organized by the Office of Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy (SpoRIC) in collaboration with I-STEM and the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (GoI), this initiative provided a platform for researchers to master advanced scientific instrumentation.
We were honoured to have Dr. Harilal Bhaskar, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and National Co-ordinator of I-STEM (OPSA), as our Chief Guest. During his presidential speech, Dr. Bhaskar highlighted the vision and mission of I-STEM in providing shared access to national research facilities.
The event was also graced by our Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Partha Sharathi Mallick. During his address, the Pro-Vice Chancellor highlighted the importance of the I-RISE-OTP in strengthening India’s science and innovation ecosystem. He emphasised that this collaboration reflects our unwavering commitment to advancing India’s research infrastructure through skill development and national partnerships.

- Expert-led NMR Sessions: In-depth training on 1D & 2D NMR applications and live demonstrations.
- Advanced Data Analysis: Hands-on experience with TopSpin software for data plotting.
- Microscopy Excellence: Focused practical training on HRTEM, FESEM, and EBSD for crystallographic and microstructural analysis.
- Capacity Building: Enhancing job readiness and research capacity for operators, scholars, and industry professionals.
As a recognized I-STEM Catalyst Centre, VIT is dedicated to providing affordable access to high-end research infrastructure. This program specifically focused on bridging the gap between theory and practical operational expertise.
