VIT's Researcher Honored!
We are proud to highlight the achievements of Mr. Sabarish Kumar, who is currently pursuing research under VIT’s Deep Tech Research Program with the guidance of Dr. Jose Swaminathan.
His research project has been selected as one of 100 projects across India to receive the prestigious India AI Fellowship.
He began his academic career as an Assistant Professor at St. Joseph’s Institute of Technology, Chennai, where he served for seven years. His academic record includes 10 publications in Scopus-indexed journals and two publications indexed in Web of Science, reflecting scholarly excellence. He also brings two years of industry experience as a Data Analyst, expertise in Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Currently, his research focuses on AI- and IoT-enabled solar desalination systems, aimed at developing sustainable and intelligent solutions to address critical water challenges, under VIT’s Deep Tech Chancellor’s Fellowship.
He recently participated in INDIA AI IMPACT SUMMIT 2026. During the summit, he had the opportunity to present his research work directly to the Honourable Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Shri. Ashwini Vaishnaw. His project is one among the 12 projects which has been shortlisted for presentation before the Union Minister.
His journey exemplifies how interdisciplinary research at VIT continues to nurture scholars who contribute to technological innovation for societal impact.
