The Centre for Net-Zero Technologies (CNET) is a multi-disciplinary research and innovation centre focused on developing advanced, sustainable, and scalable technologies to support India’s transition towards a carbon-neutral future. CNET focuses on mission-oriented research, technology development, innovation, and industry-academia collaboration in strategically important areas of the net-zero ecosystem. The Centre aims to bridge the gap between fundamental research and real-world implementation.
CNET’s thrust areas span the entire technology chain, from clean energy generation and storage to sustainable transportation, resource recovery, carbon reduction, and climate-resilient solutions. CNET is committed to nurturing researchers, innovators, and technology entrepreneurs while contributing to national and global sustainability goals. The Centre envisions becoming a leading platform for research excellence, technological innovation, capacity building, and translational research that supports India’s journey towards a net-zero, sustainable future.
Vision
- To become a nationally recognised Centre of Excellence driving Net Zero technologies through innovation in sustainable mobility, renewable energy, hydrogen systems, circular economy, and intelligent energy management to address societal and industrial challenges.
Mission
- Promote carbon neutrality and Net Zero goals through sustainable mobility, smart charging infrastructure, digital twins, and AI-enabled transportation systems.
- Pioneering next-generation integrated energy storage and renewable energy systems including solar, wind, green hydrogen, fuel cells, batteries, agrivoltaics, and hybrid energy systems.
- Support circular economy initiatives through waste recovery and valorisation, and sustainable product development through collaborative research, consultancy, incubation, and startup support.
- To foster a sustainable future by promoting awareness, providing training, and developing affordable technologies for rural communities and industries.
