The Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Commonwealth Heritage Skills Training Programme is a large-scale initiative launched by the Commonwealth Heritage Forum and funded by the Vinehill Trust. Named in honour of the Queen's seventy years of service to the Commonwealth, its primary goal is to protect and rejuvenate historic buildings and monuments at risk across Commonwealth nations. Over five years, the programme will train over 600 people, with a particular emphasis on young people and those from disadvantaged communities. The programme aims to teach traditional artisan techniques and sustainable strategies for repairing at-risk historic buildings. Phase 1 of the initiative Supported heritage training schemes in Antigua and Barbuda, Jamaica, Barbados, and India, while Phase 2 is extending its reach to several other countries its reach to as many as twenty countries.
