World Water Day is held globally on March 22nd every year since 1993 to create awareness on water. Theme of World Water Day 2025 is “Glacier Preservation” which focuses on the need for global action to sustainable management of meltwater from glacier and reduce emissions, securing vital water resources for the future. In connection with World Water Day 2025 celebration Centre for Clean Environment (CCE) VIT, Vellore is organizing a one-day seminar on ‘Melting Glaciers: Impacts, Mitigation, and Global Responsibility’. The main objective of the seminar is to create awareness on climate change and melting glaciers, consequence of disrupting water flows and its effect on millions through floods, droughts, and rising sea level. It also emphasis on the need of mitigating climate change and adapting to the loss of glaciers is essential to protect communities and ecosystems. Lectures will be delivered by experts from premier academic Institutions & Industries.
