VIT School of Design (V-SIGN)

The PhD in Design at V-SIGN is a research-intensive program aimed at developing scholars capable of advancing knowledge in design, innovation, and emerging technologies. The program encourages interdisciplinary research that integrates design thinking, technology, sustainability, and humanity-centered innovation to address contemporary societal and industrial challenges.

Doctoral scholars work closely with faculty mentors and research groups to contribute to advanced research, publications, patents, and design innovations.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should have:

  • Master’s degree in Design / Industrial Design / Product Design / Interaction Design
OR
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Fine Arts, or related disciplines with strong design orientation.

Applicants must qualify through the VITREE (VIT Research Entrance Examination) or other recognized national eligibility tests as per university norms.
