How the Career Development Centre Works

The CDC operates as a dedicated, university-wide unit rather than a departmental placement cell, which means it coordinates recruitment across all programmes and schools centrally. Companies register with CDC and select the programmes and campuses they wish to recruit from; the CDC then schedules pre-placement talks, aptitude tests, group discussions, technical rounds and final interviews on or off campus.

  • Pre-placement training: Career Management courses, mock interviews, aptitude and communication skills training are integrated into the curriculum at B.Tech and MBA levels before recruitment season begins.
  • Company registration and scheduling: 850+ companies across sectors register with CDC each year. Drives are scheduled for Vellore, Chennai, AP and Bhopal campuses, with some companies visiting multiple campuses in a single cycle.
  • Internship facilitation: The CDC manages summer and winter internship placements alongside the final placement cycle, coordinating stipend-based internships that serve as pre-placement offer pathways for several recruiters.
  • Sector diversity: The recruiter base spans IT and software services, product companies, consulting, data analytics, BFSI, automobile and core engineering, and management-specialist firms for MBA graduates.

The School houses excellent infrastructure and well trained faculty members (89 nos). Most of them have pursued Post-Doctoral training from laboratories in developed countries.
