Biomedical Instrumentation lab
Overview
The Biomedical Instrumentation lab is the core teaching facility under the school of Electronics Engineering(SENSE).The course apply the strong foundation for the biomedical Engineering students with biology to solve medical problems in living systems. The program aims to equip students with skills to develop new technologies for life saving equipment, biomedical instruments for treatment and diagnosis, physiological parameter monitoring using sensors, biomechanics, biomedical imaging, medical devices, cell and tissue engineering and more other medical applications. The course also aims at enabling the students to acquire technical skills for becoming experts in telemedicine, healthcare communication and medical informatics. The strong collaborative connection with academia, clinical medicine and industry offers opportunities for the professional development and to gain unique knowledge and experience in the field.
Objectives
- To design and develop the medical device for the present need of Patient care,Healthcare delievery system
- To manage in clinical setting to calibrate and maintain medical machine to work smoothly
- To develop gain knowledge by designing assistive technologies to help individuals with disabilities
- To develop the biocompatible material for the implants to the human body
- To create the software tools for the biological data and data transfer to medical practioners
Key Focus Areas
- To design and build the hardware used to diagnose and treat patients.
- To developing materials that can safely interact with biological systems. The challenge is finding substances that aren’t rejected by the body’s immune system. Creating polymers, ceramics, or composites for implants
- To study the mechanics of the body how muscles, bones, and joints move and handle stress.
- To work on the physics and software behind complex scanning machines.
- To develop mathematical modeling to predict how a drug or a device will affect the entire body.
