VALUE 2020

Over the last two decades architecture is blending into a new era of technovation (technology + innovation). Architects as urban designers and planners need to keep pace with the technological innovations and advancement that form an integral part of the built environment. Since technological trends exert a profound impact on the way we live, there is a strong need to accommodate both physical dynamics and market dynamics. The key question that surfaces here is whether tech-fueled urban planning alone can solve social and economic problems. Can smart city technologies improve the quality of life?

What is the city that we want to create in the future? As the world continues to urbanize it is extremely crucial to link every aspect of urbanization with sustainability. The concept of "liveability" has emerged alongside "sustainability" as a buzzword in public discourse and planning. Liveability is intrinsically linked to spatial, social inclusion, the economy, health and well-being and sustainable technologies.
