Facilities

SCE has excellent laboratory facilities for carrying out teaching, research and consultancy activities in various disciplines of civil engineering. SCE has state-of-the-art labs that allow the students to experiment and bring to practice what they have learnt in theory.

Laboratories are well equipped with modern facilities and specialized software, and provide state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and advanced research. The school has actively assisted local industries and Government departments in structural, environmental and transportation engineering related studies.

Concrete 3D Printing Lab

Learning and research activity:

  • Students are able to print complex 3D models using cementitious materials.
  • They can use concrete 3D printing technology to express their ideas, creativity, and demonstrate their knowledge, or make a transformation.
  • Students perform research on developing a 3D printable cementitious material for construction industry. 
  • They also preform research on topology optimised structural elements.

Learning and research activity:

  • Students practice testing the efficiency of different types of pumps and turbines.
  • Students perform research on designing on various types of pumps and turbines.

  • They practice collecting road traffic data.
  • Students perform research on developing better performing pavement mixes, pavement evaluation.
  • They also research on solving traffic operations problems and traffic safety.
