Overview

The Medical Image Processing Lab is a core teaching facility under the School of Electronics Engineering (SENSE), focusing on computational techniques for analyzing, enhancing, and interpreting medical images such as X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. Using MATLAB and Python, algorithms are developed for feature extraction and quantitative analysis. These approaches support early disease detection, accurate diagnosis, and improved patient care through advanced healthcare technologies.

  • Acquisition of medical images from MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound systems, followed by digitization for computational processing.

  • Image restoration techniques to reduce noise, correct blur, and eliminate distortions for accurate representation.
